DITTO and TEAMG Jointly Establish DTX to Promote Digital Twin Technology for New Business Ventures
DITTO has partnered with TEAMG to establish DTX, the first company in Thailand focused on Digital Twin technology, aiming to penetrate new business sectors targeting major public and private projects. This initiative will transform large-scale construction data and infrastructure systems into a Digital format, offering real-time monitoring, accuracy, transparency, and cost savings. In 2023, DTX plans to launch a super app to enter multiple market projects.

Mr. Thakorn Rattanakamonporn, CEO of DITTO (Thailand) Public Company Limited, stated that DITTO and TEAMG have jointly established DTX to collaborate on innovative technology projects leveraging the strengths of both companies. DTX will focus on Core Technology known as Digital Twin, with a registered capital of 30 million baht, with both companies holding equal shares of 50% each.
“DITTO has a development team and programmers skilled in information technology and integrating DATA into Digital systems, which is our core business. DTX operates similarly to DITTO but focuses on construction and infrastructure data, transforming it into a Digital format. While DITTO digitizes documents, DTX will store infrastructure data, enhancing market value as construction and infrastructure projects are large-scale and high-value. TEAMG has the necessary data, and DITTO will convert it into a Digital format,” Mr. Thakorn explained.
Dr. Apichat Saramul, Managing Director of TEAM Consulting Engineering and Management Public Company Limited, remarked, “TEAM Group has been providing integrated consulting engineering services for over 45 years, with extensive experience in executing large-scale (Mega Project) initiatives for both public and private sectors. This gives us strong expertise and a modern, comprehensive database. DTX will integrate this data into a Digital system to create Digital Information that can be applied to various projects using modern technology that is more efficient than in the past. One such technology is Building Information Modeling (BIM), which serves as a prototype for Digital Twin. TEAM Group is proficient in applying BIM for design and construction project control, enabling us to utilize BIM data to create Digital Twin Data, transforming paper-based information into Digital information that enhances market value through developed software, ready to adapt to future changes,” he added.

Associate Professor Dr. Porn Virulrak, Managing Director of DTX, explained that the Digital Twin technology is a model that reflects the real-time status of a physical object (Physical) into a computer system (Digital), akin to a twin where one exists in the physical world and the other in the digital realm. This twin model can display details and properties equivalent to the actual object, providing real-time information that can be used to improve operational systems, reduce costs, and facilitate effective problem-solving.
Dr. Porn further elaborated that Digital Twin can be simply described as the physical representation of an object, such as data from large buildings, industrial factories, industrial estates, construction data, water systems, electrical systems, and urban data, which are typically recorded in blueprints or stored in standard computer files. However, Digital Twin brings this data or blueprints into a digital platform, allowing for real-time access 24/7, representing the latest technology and the future of technology.
“Building managers and utility system operators want to see real-time electricity usage. If managing an industrial estate, they want to know the extent of flooding after rainfall—where it is severe and where it is not—to issue alerts. City governors in what we call a Smart City may need access to CCTV for safety, traffic monitoring, environmental conditions, and assessing damage to equipment or machinery, such as water pumps and streetlights. The Digital Twin can send signals directly without intermediaries, ensuring that the information received is accurate, transparent, and reliable,” Dr. Porn stated.
Benefits of Digital Twin:
1) Reduces reliance on labor by using sensors to systematically and continuously gather data.
2) Enables rapid response to various events due to real-time data, allowing for timely and accurate decision-making.
3) Provides a comprehensive view of issues, fostering new creative ideas and policies within organizations.
The target customers have historically been large organizations with substantial public infrastructure assets for sale but face challenges in tracking, monitoring, and maintenance.
Dr. Porn added that in 2023, DTX plans to introduce an application related to land management, analyzing real-time physical environmental data (Physical) in a digital context to effectively manage investment risks in land. Additionally, there will be applications for managing industrial estates, energy-related public infrastructure projects, and water management, among others.
